Drawn in response to the prompt “Surprise” for my Materials & Techniques II class. Finally, I get to draw something cute! The technique we used involved rendering first in graphite (which I used), charcoal, or ink, and then spraying a layer of fixative in addition to paint a layer of matte medium over the drawing. We then had to paint the image using gouache. I think I might actually use this technique again sometime; I really like the softness of the effect. :)
