I guess this is alright for me to talk about now since this is all over the internet as of this morning. I recently finished this poster for Mondo Posters (who I did The Innkeepers poster for) of the new Tim Burton movie “Dark Shadows”.
Unfortunately due to my humungo secret project, my time has been worn very thin of recent. So working on this poster was a nice change of pace from everything I have been doing for the last few months.
The poster will be sold in very limited numbers through Mondo’s site soon, as well as through me personally once I get my hands on some copies. So be sure to keep posted for news on that.
And as someone so casually mentioned on Ain’t It Cool News, this a very humble nod to one of my favorite paintings Friedrich’s Wanderer above the Sea of Fog.

RANGO (Verbinski, 2011) - Tonally and narratively disjointed, sure, but pretty funny, and unexpectedly gorgeous. That pretty much sums this movie up: cohesive stories have never been Verbinski’s strength, but he knows how to use cinematic tropes and Johnny Depp, and he adds enough eccentric touches to keep me entertained - I can’t not have any affection for a guy who obviously loves Leone so much. Also, did you know Timothy Olyphant could do such a pitch-perfect Clint Eastwood? He certainly had me fooled…
